Where can you find legitimate work from home accounting jobs?
Let's find out..
Tax Day (April 15) has come and gone and for most of us, that is a relief.
But maybe not so much for those accountants and bookkeepers who earn a secondary income from the mad scramble that many Americans make to get their taxes done on time!
However, the good news for those of you who are looking to either work from home full time or make a secondary income on a part time basis as an accountant or bookkeeper is that there are many legitimate work from home accounting jobs available, you just have to know where to find them!
And in fact, right here on this very page is a great place to start... just keep reading and below you will see a list of companies that regularly hire experience bookkeepers/accountants who wish to work from home.
I have a close friend of mine who works from home as an accountant in California and loves it because she is able to spend more time with her family.
Working from home is not for everyone of course, but I believe it is the wave of the future for many and especially so as technology makes telecommuting easier and easier.
Many companies small and large alike, are beginning to see the wisdom (aka the cost savings) of hiring telecommuting employees.
Work from home accounting jobs can be very rewarding and family friendly, however be aware that these telecommuting accounting jobs will require someone who can be very meticulous in keeping accurate and detailed records.

Quicken
Office/Word Processing Software
Microsoft Excel (Spreadsheet) Software
PeachTree Accounting
Microsoft Money
It is also a good idea to apply to these
types of work from home accounting jobs ONLY if you have plenty of
experience in this field. If you're just getting out of college, then perhaps working
for
a "brick and mortar" business and building up your resume and
experience is the smartest thing you can do for your career.
When
you have built up your experience, reputation and your clientele then
perhaps you can either ask the company that you work for to consider
allowing you to work from home or perhaps you can take a look at some of
the companies listed below, apply, and wow them with your depth of
knowledge and experience!
Accounting /Bookkeeping Experience
Office/ Administrative experience
Data Entry
Accounts Payable and
Accounts Receivable
Experience with payroll
Experience with working with invoicing
Experience with working on keeping inventory up to date
Most companies will also require that you have a Bachelors degree or higher.
Please be aware that this list can change at any time, come back from time to time to see the newest telecommuting accounting jobs that are available!
