Avoid the scams and find legitimate online jobs for teens
Can Teens work from home?
Many may think you have to be 18 to work from home but that may not be the case.
If you are the parent of a teenager or if you are a teenager yourself you may have wondered if there are any jobs out there that can be done from the comfort of home.
You may be surprised to know that there are several companies that hire teens to work from home.
In some cases, all that is needed is a computer, high speed internet and a landline. (no cell phones, sorry!)
This is all very exciting and not to dump cold water on your excitement but here's my disclaimer:
Please
be aware that there are many scams out in cyberspace, and while
I have tried to weed out the scams and put only legit money making
opportunities on this page, if you are a teen, I would highly suggest
that you have a parent look at these opportunities with you to make sure
that you are not involving yourself in anything you shouldn't be.
One
more thing, most of these jobs will require a Paypal account. While
you can have a Paypal Student account if you are under 18, it still
requires a parent's consent so please be aware of this as well.
Let's explore some at-home jobs for teens below.
Customer service from home
Working from home in the area of customer service, while perhaps not ideal for a teen, is possible with select companies.
1. Cox Communications
This company hires teens to work from home taking inbound calls for video, telephone, wireless service and high speed internet services.
Requirements include:
You must be at least 16 years of age
You should have at least 6 months of customer service experience
You should live no more than 1 hour away from their Mesa, AZ office in order to apply.
To apply, please go to:

2. U Haul
Don't live near Mesa, AZ? Take a look at Uhaul, They hire teens to work for them in the area of reservations or customer service. Some of the jobs they offer are location based as well.
In order to work for U Haul, you must have some customer service experience as well.
For
teens, it can be as simple as having worked at a grocery store, movie theatre
or any other local place of business that
required you to interact with customers.

You
know the type, perhaps you are the type. The really smart ones at
school that are getting straight A's in particular subject, heck, maybe
more than one subject.
If you want to make a little extra money with the smarts that God has gifted you with, perhaps Tutoring is the way to go.
1. Enroll
Enroll is a website that hires tutors in just about every subject and allows tutors as young as 15 years old to work for the company.
To see more info about this company or to apply, please see the link below:

There
are websites that allow you to reach out to people who are looking for
someone responsible and dedicated to animals to take care of their pets
while they are out on a date night, gone for the weekend
or on an
extended vacation.
Some people are even looking for people who can just walk their dogs on a daily basis. This may be a perfect job for a teen who loves animals.
If you don't want to go through the
website I will post below, you can even start your own business by
posting flyers on mailboxes, with a picture of you with your pet and
detailing what you do and how much your rates are.
My suggestion is to set up an e-mail address set up specifically for your new business, or get a free phone number from a free app like Text Free, and list that number as your contact number.

Amazon
Mechanical Turk has little gigs that you can pick up for a few cents
here and there. The more you work, the more you make and the
pay isn't great but believe it or not, I have heard
of many people making a decent amount per month if they spend a lot of time on this site.
Here's the thing, I have tried this site and I am truly mystified as to how people make more than $1 a month, (I'm exaggerating) but if you are really interested in how it all works, then click here to see more details.
Talk about best jobs for teens, this one sounds fun, right?
Nichols Research needs video game testers to participate in studies for payment. Please note that these opportunities are usually a one time gig instead of steady work. But if you pick up enough little gigs like this, the money will add up.

If you're big on Twitter, this may be a neat opportunity for you to make some extra money.
The way this works? You tweet out sponsored messages to your followers for an advertiser. The advertiser pays you cash.
Online jobs for teens? This is more like a teen's ream come true:
Make up to $12 per hour listening to music online.

These
rewards sites are a little like survey sites except that you earn
rewards for doing things such as watching videos, conducting web searches
and yes, completing surveys.
You can usually expect to be paid in
points that add up over time. After some time, you can redeem these
points for cash or merchandise. It's best to create a
free e-mail account because you will get a lot of spam and junk e-mail as a result of
signing up with these companies .
You may also want to look into getting a free
phone number through free apps like TextFree. Then enter this free phone
number in the phone number field in the applications for these rewards
sites.
You will avoid a lot of telemarketer calls on your main phone line by doing this.
Here are some rewards sites to look at:
Cashcrate.com

Zoombucks

Quick rewards
( You have to get your parent's permission to sign up )

and perhaps one of the most popular rewards programs:
Swagbucks
Taking
surveys online is another way to make a little money here and there.
However, be very careful and only go with legitimate survey sites such
as the ones I have recommended here.
Just like the cautions I
have mentioned for signing up on rewards site, the same will apply
here. There are many scams out there in regards to survey sites, just
note that you should never have to pay to complete a survey and
neither should you have to pay to receive a list of survey paying
sites.
Why should you pay when I have listed them for you here for
free?
See my list of online survey companies here:
