Hi Melina,
Question: Do you know of any transcription or court reporting service that pay really well? Would appreciate any tips -- and thanks for an Excellent blog that I've referred many people to !!
Answer:
Hi Joyce! Thanks for stopping by, thank you for your always kind words and spreading the word about the site! In regards to higher paying transcription and court reporting jobs: The unfortunate truth with transcription is that it can be very low paying unless you have a lot of experience or are really seasoned OR, you are able to get your foot in the door of Law Enforcement transcription, which can pay very well. Currently the only legitimate company that I know of that offers jobs in law enforcement transcription is NetTranscrips.com:
www.nettranscripts.com/careers.htm
They were hiring a few weeks ago, but I just checked and saw they are not hiring now. But, I would suggest checking their site every so often, or, going to Indeed.com and setting up a free job alert and you will be notified via email the next time this job is available!
And, I just found (again) a really wonderful page written by one of our very own readers about what it really takes to work in transcription , here it is below, (highly recommended reading):

As far as court reporting, I admit I don't really have any experience with that area of work. But what I did is find you the official National Court Reporters Association page at:
www.ncra.org/Education/content
Sorry I couldn't be of more help with that! Good luck and if there's anything else I can help with Joyce, just give me a shout anytime! =)
Best,
Melina
P.S. Sorry for the late reply!
