We all know the saying: A Penny Saved is a Penny earned.
And that's so true. I am an avid couponer, and I try to save money
and cut costs everywhere I can, so that I have extra money for the things
that are important to me and my family.
So, that's why, when I run across sites like this, I take advantage of them 100%.
If you've been
reading my newsletters for a while, you may remember my write up on
Snagshout.
Snagshout is similar to the company that I will profile
here, except that this company is a more exclusive one. You can't just
sign up , you have to be invited.
Registration is totally free but they try to limit the amount of
people who have access to this, so you can only get in if you've been
invited.
This company is named Elite Deals. They operate under a very simple premise.
You can get free or discounted items for free from Amazon in exchange for your honest review of the item.
So basically, you can get the items they list on their site at a
pretty steep discount, but they do want you to write a pretty detailed
review of the item:
How it works, how it smells, how it feels, whether
it's effective ... really, you can write about whatever you want, but
try to make it more than a one-sentence review.
The goal is to help other customers be aware of whether the item is a good buy or not, and how it effective it is.
Please note that it is no longer a requirement to post somewhere in
your review that you received the item at a discount in exchange for an
honest review.
You will no longer get kicked out of Elite Deals, for failing to disclose that, as they no longer REQUIRE that leave a review, as it is now against Amazon's policy for anyone to be required to leave a review in exchange for a discounted or free item.
One other thing to note is that the website does not have deals
available 24 hours a day. This is a departure from companies like Snagshout
that allows anyone to log in anytime of the day or night and "snag" their deal.
Elite Deals
is different in that they release their deals every day at certain
times of the day. Once you're registered, they will send you an e-mail
letting you know when the deals are "live". Usually, it's 3 times a
day: at 10 am EST, 2 pm EST and 8 pm EST.
Don't go in early because they release the deals at the times above,
to the minute, so be ready to click on the link that they send you at
exactly the times that they tell you they will be ready.
The free deals will go first, so I suggest to be ready to snatch up
the coupon codes for the free items first. Then go back and get the
items that are cheapest, then go back and look at everything else.
And, that's my next point.
Elite Deals
will let you snatch up as many items as you want to before they sell
out. And they sell out quickly. But if you don't happen to get what
you want, remember, they send you an e-mail everyday, so you can
conceivably go in every single day and shop.
This is another departure from Snagshout, which will only let you "snag" one item, and will not let you get another one until the one that you purchased has been reviewed.
As I mentioned, you can get some of these items for free, but do be
advised that you may have to pay for shipping, unless you have an Amazon prime account that allows you to have free 2 day shipping.
I love my Amazon prime account and use it several times a week between Snagshout and Elite Deals
. It has paid for itself many times over. They also offer a free
one-month trial if you want to just try it out for a month. Just be
sure to cancel it if you don't want to get charged!
Elite Deals
is really great, I highly recommend them and what's more, with the
Holidays right around the corner, it's a great way to start getting your
shopping done and not spending a fortune for once.
I wish I could show you a list of all the items that I have bought
in the last 6 months through this program, but I have literally bought
hundred and hundreds of items. Way too many to post here.
So now... I ALWAYS look on this site before I buy anything other
than groceries now. And it's nice to have more money for other things
because I don't spend a fortune on items that are not
really necessary, but are nice to have!
Which leads me back to say with new meaning that Ben Franklin was right: A Penny Saved is a Penny Earned!
Here's your invite code for Elite Deals:
Enjoy everyone!
