Nursing is a wonderful profession but it is also hard work, can be physically and emotionally demanding as well as mentally taxing.
Working from home as a nurse may be no less stressful or mentally taxing, however, it has many attractive benefits. Namely:no commute, no long hours away from your family, and, since you can expect to be working telephonically, it will be less physically demanding as well.
Carenet is a company based out of San Antonio, TX, that hires qualified registered nurses to work out of their homes in the area of telephone triage.
If you're looking for more information on this company and specifically, this job opportunity, read on:
Requirements include the following:
A minimum of a 2 year nursing degree
A
Current, unrestricted TX RN license or a current RN license in your
state with the ability to become licensed in the state of TX.
They
prefer that you have at least 3 years of clinical experience in what
they call "mixed-care nursing", meaning a mix of experience in the areas
of pediatric and adult care, Home Health Care, Emergency and ICU.
You
will need to have strong computer skills and the ability to multi task
while working (thinking, problem-solving,talking on the phone, typing in

You don't have to live in TX to be
hired on with the company. However, the company is not always hiring,
and when they are, they typically hire from the following states:
South
Dakota, New Hampshire, Missouri, Tennessee, Nebraska, Virginia, North
Carolina, South Carolina and of course, Texas Onsite training in Texas
may be required.
Carenet
is a company that offers health care services to its clients which are a
mix of insurance companies, other medical providers, hospitals and
employers.
Basically, for their at-home division, this company is a medical call center that runs via registered nurses who work from home.
As
a telephone triage nurse working for the company, you would be considered a Care
Advisor. Your job would include various duties such as :
Providing telephone triage
Interacting with Members/ Insurance Companies/ Hospitals
Providing Health Care support.
CareNet Nurses are available 24 hours a day, so you may be required to work overnight shifts and/or weekends.
I
hear from many nurses who are tired of the rat race and wish to bring in a good income but also wish to avoid the long hours away from their
families that are usually part and parcel of being a nurse.
Working for a company like this and avoiding a commute, as well as doing
away with 12 hour shifts away from your family seems like a pretty
great deal.
When you add in that you make approximately $25
an hour and are eligible for benefits such as medical, dental vision,
life insurance 401k as well as paid time off and holidays, the job becomes even more desirable.
Remember
that working from home, you avoid many of the costs of working outside
of the home, such as paying for gas, lunches out, uniforms and good
walking shoes (That is a necessity as a nurse!). That
$25 per hour can go a long way when you subtract those expenses! The only
thing you might have to invest in besides a good headset is a comfy
office chair!
To apply:
Please visit the company website here
Using Carenet's Employment Page:

Among
other things, companies are always looking for people with good
character so I would always suggest taking care to portray yourself in
the best light. Be careful to avoid spelling mistakes and get your
resume ready in case it is needed.
Good luck!
